Desktop and Android YouTube No Ads Tips and Tricks

TAMADIGI - With tools like Adblock, you can get
desktop and android YouTube no ads without annoying ad interruptions. The tools
mainly work with the desktop version, but with an alternative app for YouTube
they also work on any device. We explain how to block YouTube ads.
Why are There So Many Ads
on YouTube?
Ads usually
appear when you want to watch a trailer on YouTube for a while or focus on an
important tutorial video. Ad breaks are part of everyday life on YouTube. Many
users would confirm that the number of ad breaks is on the rise. Also, banner
ads around videos are annoying and even questionable due to tracking by third
party companies. This leads us to ask: Why is there so much advertising on
YouTube?
There are
two reasons that influence: YouTube offers most of its content for free. Thus,
users can consume an unlimited number of YouTube videos for free. YouTube and
YouTubers generate revenue through on-page and video advertising. At the same
time, the advertising makes some users opt for the YouTube Premium payment
model to enjoy YouTube without advertising.
How Can YouTube Ads be
Blocked?
Advertising
on YouTube can be blocked by special browser extensions, an ad-free browser, or
a YouTube premium subscription.
With ad blockers in the
browser version of YouTube
Ad blockers
are browser extensions that block ads. As a rule, adblockers not only remove
ads from YouTube, but also ads and advertising content from other sites. The
most popular ad blockers are Adblock Plus (Chrome, Firefox, Android),
SponsorBlock for YouTube (Google Chrome and Firefox), and Adblock for YouTube.
Proceed as
follows to install an ad blocker:
Step 1: Depending on the browser, download the
selected Adblock extension from the add-on pages of Edge, Chrome, Firefox,
Safari or directly from the provider's website. In this example, we use the
free Adblock Plus extension for Edge. As a general rule, extensions are added
to the browser through “Install” or “Add”.
Step 2: On the top toolbar you will now see the
Adblock Plus extension icon.
Step 3: Now it's time to configure the blocker, as the
extension comes with no ad filter by default. To block ad scripts, subscribe to
block lists that include the most common ad scripts.
Step 4: You can also make custom settings by clicking
the Adblock Plus icon and “Turn off: on (page name)” when you visit a page you
want to exclude from ad blocking. This ensures that the ad-supported pages you
frequently visit continue to receive ad revenue.
Android YouTube no ads
The Adblock app
While there
are numerous ways to block YouTube ads in the browser, it's not as easy with
the YouTube app. Ad blockers such as Adblock Plus can also be installed as an
app, but the blocking feature usually only works for the browser app. One
option is YouTube Premium subscription, another is apps like NewPipe or YouTube
Vanced, which are alternative YouTube apps that offer YouTube videos without
ads or tracking.
How to use
NewPipe for YouTube without ads:
Step 1: First of all, you need to allow the browser
app to install unknown apps in the app settings of your Android device. This
works through “Settings” > “Apps & notifications” > “Special app
access”.
Step 2: Download the installation file of the NewPipe
application. To do this, pull the APK file from a portal like Github, for
example. However, it is better to download the NewPipe app through an
alternative official app store like F-Droid. To do this, please install the
F-Droid app first and authorize the app to install unknown apps. Then download
the NewPipe app and disable the authorization to install unknown apps in the
F-Droid app again for security reasons.
Step 3: Now install NewPipe and use the app to access
YouTube videos and channels completely without ads or tracking.
Use an Android browser
without ads
Instead of
browser extensions, ad-free browsers from AdAway, Adblock Plus or AdGuard are
also a good option to get android YouTube no ads. The popular Brave browser is
also a solution. Just download the corresponding browser on your mobile device
(or PC) and browse completely ad-free with it, even on YouTube. Since ad
blocking hurts YouTubers' income, at least the Brave Browser offers an
alternative source of income for YouTubers with Brave Tokens and Brave Payments
in the form of donations, monthly budgets, and payments based on the length of
YouTube views.
Subscribe to YouTube
Premium
If you don't want to overlook YouTube, but still want to support it, subscribe to YouTube Premium. With the Premium version, starting at around $16 a month, you not only get a lot of extra features, but you can also block YouTube ads, quite officially.
